While official statistics on crashes and deaths resulting from distracted driving vary widely depending on the source, there is no question that smartphones have made our roads far more dangerous than ever. In a 2014 study conducted by the Transport Research Laboratory, drivers who were texting experienced a 37% slower reaction time versus 13% for drunk driving. Proof that texting while driving is even more dangerous than drunk driving has substantially increased awareness of the distracted driving issue. And we would like to increase awareness even more.

To honor Distracted Driving Awareness month, we are making our eLearning course on distracted driving available for free through the end of April. Please share it with your family, friends and coworkers. Let us all do our part in stopping this hazardous behavior, which results in thousands of senseless deaths every year. Drive safely and please put the phone down.
